Due to the packaging and shipping process, case necks are often slightly dinged or bent and need to be rounded up and sized to give proper neck tension. New and/or fired cases must be full-length resized or have the expander ball of the sizing die run through the case neck prior to loading.

Peterson 30-06 Brass is best I have ever used

By Jerry N. on Oct 15, 2020
The Peterson 30-06 brass that I recently purchased is the best brass I have ever used. It has very close tolerances on uniformity of weight, neck walk thickness, and linear dimensions. It arrived in perfect condition inside their excellent packaging. Out of the box it was ready to load. I used a mandrel to uniform the necks and it was a redundant waste of time. I have fired and then reloaded only 20 rounds so far but they were flawless. I annealed them after wet cleaning with stainless steel pins. Resizing was smooth with Redding Type S die and the neck tension was extremely uniform - equal to new brass. My only wish is that they made more cartridges- especially Dakota. Peterson will be my first choice in brass.

My new "Go To"

By James S. on Oct 05, 2020
When Peterson 30-06 came available I scooped some up and it did not disappoint. Very consistent, with thick necks.....you'll need a bigger bushing, lol. Out of the initial 50, I used 5 as test beds for some redneck pressure testing with fast'ish powder and 200gr pills; long story short, I stopped counting at 8 firings. Primer pockets still snug, and not much shoulder growth as long as you are only bumping a thou or two. This stuff is tougher than boiled owl s*%!. As Stephen D. said, it is thicker with less capacity, so start lower are re-work your favorite loads.

Fantastic Brass

This brass is a little pricey , but worth every penny and more. Very consistent on weight and length . Love the fact that it comes in a box with foam to protect the case mouths. Just load it .

Very consistent

By Stephen D. on Jul 05, 2020
This brass is heavier than Lapua and very consistent. Be carful developing new loads because you will get pressure signs early compared to other brass makers. But velocity will go up sooner too. All in all, really good brass IMO.
