Due to the packaging and shipping process, case necks are often slightly dinged or bent and need to be rounded up and sized to give proper neck tension. New and/or fired cases must be full-length resized or have the expander ball of the sizing die run through the case neck prior to loading.

Product Information

#3440 - 5.56x45mm Brass (Small Rifle primer)

The 5.56x45mm NATO is the military version of the .223 Remington, which is one of the most widely used centerfire cartridges today. Starline’s 5.56x45mm brass is identical to Starline’s .223 Remington brass except for a slight change in the metallurgy making it harder at the base of the case.

When loaded at .223 Remington pressures, Starline's .223 brass is safe to use in any firearm chambered for .223 or 5.56x45mm. If loaded to 5.56 pressures, you need to use firearms labeled for use with 5.56mm. It can be unsafe to fire 5.56mm ammunition in firearms with a .223 Remington chamber.

This Starline Brass is bagged at Graf & Sons. This is not loaded ammunition.

Starline 5.56 brass

By Rick L. on Aug 01, 2023
I have been very pleased with this brass I load heavy for caliber bullets, which requires brass that can handle higher pressures in my bolt rifle. I definitely will buy this again.

Works Great in an AR-15

By Quinton E. on Nov 28, 2020
Starline makes very high quality brass at a great price. I am on my 5th reload with the 5.56x45 brass shooting it through an AR-15. So far it is holding up well.

Starline does it right

By Casidy C. on Jun 03, 2020
I have been using Starline brass for a while now and I have no complaints. If you're looking for consistent brass at a awesome price you cannot beat the products this company produces! From 5.56mm to 6.5 Creedmoor and 308 Win match and 9mm, you won't be let down. Consistent neck thickness, brass hardness, and internal volume make this brass on the same level as products that cost twice as much it more!

Good brass for the money
