Due to the packaging and shipping process, case necks are often slightly dinged or bent and need to be rounded up and sized to give proper neck tension. New and/or fired cases must be full-length resized or have the expander ball of the sizing die run through the case neck prior to loading.

Product Information

With Hornady brass you’ll get more reloads, greater consistency, predictable performance and accuracy that commodity brass simply can’t deliver. We measure for consistent wall concentricity and we run our cases through pressure calibration tests to ensure uniform case expansion. And each and every case is hand inspected. New, unprimed brass. This is not loaded ammunition.

Note:  This is bagged bulk brass, not boxed.

Hornady 25-06 brass

Had some trouble with Hornady in the past. 22-250 brass was bad. Split necks right out of the box. 25-06 cases have not been reloaded but look good. We'll see.

Bad batch of 25-06

Decided to use this brass during a recent hand loading class at the Site. What a mistake.

Weights varied over 30 grains from case to case. Most common weights were 180-ish down to 150-ish grains. Significant variations to say the least.

Found 3 pieces with cracked necks and shoulders right out of the package.

Several pieces cracked at the shoulder to neck junction after the first firing and more after the 2nd firing. Very brittle brass.

Low pressure loading with starting loads of H4350 with 100 grain bullets.

ES of 165fps on the first firing and only dropped to 56fps on the 2nd firing. SD was just as terrible.

Never had such a problem with Hornday brass before.

Hornady Brass

I use Hornady brass for several different calibers and have never been disappointed in it's performance. It arrives clean, flash holes are uniform and centered and do not require deburring from the factory. Case volume is comparable to other brands but Hornady cases seem to last a little longer than others. Especially with the 25-06 Rem that I load pretty hot to take full advantage of it's flat trajectory and range on light to medium game. Case concentricity is acceptable for hunting ammunition as is case neck thickness and case weight variation case to case. I recommend Hornady brass in any caliber for hunting applications. It is very good brass.

Good clean brass. Great for reloading, sizing and the whole works. Hornady the best.
