Product Information

Features exposed lead tips for controlled expansion and hard-hitting terminal performance. Our pioneering secant ogive design is one of the most ballistically efficient profiles ever developed. Our InterLock design features a raised ring inside the jacket that is embedded in the bullet’s core that keeps the core and jacket locked together during expansion to retain mass and energy. The round nose and flat point bullets are for use in guns with a tubular magazine, and their profile helps guard against unwanted discharge in firearms with tube feed magazines.

Hornady 6.5 .267 bullet

By William W. on May 23, 2020
As usual, this bullet performs perfectly in my Mannlicher
Schoenauer 6.5X54 carbine. .264" bullets don't match the factory bore with this carbine.

My Carcano carbine went from shooting 3' groups to shooting 2" groups with this bullet!

Hornady 6.5mm .267 Bullets

By Ken S. on Jan 01, 2020
Excellent bullet for and excellent cartridge! These bullets have brought my Carcano rifle collection back to life. After years of disappointing results of trying to make do with .264" bullets, shooting 6" groups at 50 yds., I am now able to shoot 1 1/2" groups at 100 yds., with my M-91 and M-41 rifles. 3" groups at 100 yds. with two of the carbines. (What a difference .003" can make!) I can't wait to try these in the OTHER twelve 6.5 Carcano rifles of my collection.
I have no doubt that these would make an excellent hunting bullet, as well. I shoot Hornady's other 6.5mm 160 RN bullet from a 6.5 x 55 Swedish Mauser. It is #2640 and is .264" in diameter. It will shoot sub 1" groups at 100 yds. from a scoped M-96 rifle, with my load using Accurate #4350 powder. It's performance on deer is incredible.
I have been hand loading, shooting, and collecting military surplus rifles, and other guns, for almost forty years, and Hornady has always made quality bullets: rifle, handgun, target, and hunting.
Also, thank you Graf's for carrying these and other components for the older and sometimes obsolete cartridges. It makes it possible for us to shoot and enjoy our older firearms.

The right stuff

Hornady 6.5mm (.267) 160 gr RNSP

By Jonathan S. on May 14, 2019
I bought these to try in my very old and worn out 6.5x55 Swede carbine which slugged .267. Good fit for the worn out bore, but too large to chamber. I went back to the .264 and am getting okay results.

No fault of this bullet, which is largely the same as the .264 RNSP that I hunt with. Hell for stout and penetrates very well.

Great to have Available

By Brad R. on Mar 18, 2019
This bullet, which is the only one I've found that is the correct diameter & shape for my carcano, has been difficult to find. It was great of Hornady to make it, but they have are currently listing it as 'obsolete'. Shoots with excellent accuracy in my rifle that I bore-slugged to assure .268 diameter. Thanks to Graf & Sons for offering, and I hope it stays available.

Great in older type 38 Arisaka

By Alfred K. on Feb 19, 2019
Older type 38's were not made for .264 bullets.

Accurate in M91 Carcano Carbine

By Kevin L. on Nov 24, 2018
This bullet worked good and was accurate over xxgr of W760 in my model 91 cavalry carbine with a .268 bore.. I also got OK accuracy with Varget.

Best Bullet for Handloading 6.5 Carcano

By Jeffrey E. on Jul 31, 2018
This is the only bullet that gives acceptable accuracy when hand loading for the 6.5 Carcano. Regular .264 bullets are too undersized and don’t engage the rifling properly. Even Prvi Partizan’s bullet which they use in their factory ammo isn’t the right profile to engage the rifling properly. This bullet however, is not only the correct diameter, but the same weight as the original military load. I’ve experienced very good accuracy with these. In fact, after I worked up a good load for these, I’ve been able to shoot my Carcanos more accurately than most of my other military surplus rifles.
