Since its introduction in 1980, the Lyman Great Plains Rifle has been the standard for authenticity and accuracy in a traditional muzzleloader. Lyman is now proud to introduce the next generation of this classic rifle with the Great Plains Signature Series, made in cooperation with Davide Pedersoli & C. of Gardone, Italy. Pedersoli firearms have a worldwide reputation for precision manufacturing and the finest attention to detail.
Their wood-to-metal fit is second to none in the firearms industry. The authentic design and look of the Great Plains Signature series remains the same, including Double Set Triggers, and blackened metal furniture, but the rifle is now enhanced with a smooth operating, vintage style flat main spring lock, select American or European Walnut stock with a rich exterior finish, and superior long-range accuracy. It’s the new “Go-To” muzzleloader for sportsmen looking for Custom Performance in a production rifle.
The standard Great Plains model is equipped with a 32” barrel, semi-buckhorn style rear sight and silver blade front sight and is available in percussion or flint.
Both Great Plains and Great Plains Hunter models are drilled and tapped for Lyman's 57 GPR receiver sight.
