Nice improvement over the Accutrigger

By Bruce R. on Jul 03, 2023
I have 4 F Class rifles I built using Savage target actions. I have always been pleased with the Target Accutrigger but started having some issues with my 223 gun. I looked for a good replacement to eliminate the safety blade and found the Rifle Basix units. I bought two and installed the first one in my F Class .223 gun. It was easy to install and once I figured out the little details of how to set it, it was ready to shoot set at 1 pound. When I first installed it, it was set at 4 oz and even at that light of a setting I could not make it trip, slamming the bolt closed. I shot it last week during competition and was delighted on how it worked. No creep at all, very crisp trip at 1 pound every time. I didn't shoot my best score but it was a very good one. This trigger has many more adjustments than the savage making it much more tunable to the shooter. Only thing that could use some improvement is the instruction video. Need more info on what the three trigger holes do and preload spring on the trigger. I had to figure that out my self.

Excellent Trigger Excellent Customer Support

This is the way to go if you're tired of the touchy, mushy accutrigger. Call Rifle Basix if you can't make it work to your expectations, you'll save yourself some time, frustration and have an awesome trigger as a reward.

Light trigger pull is possible if you work at it

By Thaine C. on Sep 20, 2019
If you are replacing the factory Savage trigger on a hunting rifle trying to get rid of a 5-6 pound pull, the Rifle Basix trigger gets that job done easily.

The challenge is if you are replacing your accutrigger on your benchrest Savage rifle. The directions don't tell the entire story leaving you searching for answers. There are not a lot of options for replacement triggers for Savage actions. Consider having a gunsmith adjust this for you if you are not looking forward to several trial and error adjustment sessions while you tweak the pressure and sear adjustment screws. There's a sense of satisfaction or possibly relief when you are done though!
