Due to the packaging and shipping process, case necks are often slightly dinged or bent and need to be rounded up and sized to give proper neck tension. New and/or fired cases must be full-length resized or have the expander ball of the sizing die run through the case neck prior to loading.

Product Information

All 50 count listings of Peterson Cartridge casings come in one of their plastic ammo boxes.

Made in the U.S.A.

Peterson Cartridge Co is committed to producing Match-Grade Brass that enables our customers to get more reloads per casing than industry average.

NOTE: If you plan to load above SAAMI max pressure and are concerned about primer-pocket leak, Peterson recommends you try their 6.5 Creedmoor Small Rifle Primer (Which is not this item, but can be found here: Small Primer). While they do not suggest loading over SAAMI max pressures, Peterson's small primer pocket 6.5 Creedmoor have proven to hold up over SAAMI max pressures when tested in their universal receiver.

Warning: Only use Peterson Cartridge Co. casings in firearms in good condition, designed, marked, and chambered for this cartridge. Do not use Peterson Cartridge Co casings for “fire forming” or any other purpose other than what they were designed and tested for. Peterson retains no responsibility for the enclosed casings if they are used outside of the manufacturer’s recommendations.

Great Brass.

By Steven C. on Jan 12, 2024
Peterson makes fantastic brass - well build, quality, accurate, repeatable performance every time. Peterson brass can go head to head with the other high end players in the market and are equal or better. Highly recommend the Peterson brand

The Best

Peterson and Grafs is all I need to say

Peterson 6.5 Creedmoor brass

By Karl N. on Dec 09, 2023
Top Quality uniform brass. Appreciate the fact it is American made and every bit the equal of the Lapua brass I used to use. With Winchester 760 I have had best results with large primer pocket and Winchester large rifle primers.

Tough

By Sky S. on Oct 26, 2023
Peterson brass is tough as nails, love how the primer pockets stay nice and tight even after 10+ firings. I use it whenever I can specially if I plan on pushing it hard

Peterson brass

By Douglas F. on Oct 03, 2023
Over the course of many years of competitive mid- and long-range shooting, I have Peterson brass to be equal to or better than Lapua brass, nominally considered the gold-standard for precision target and F-Class competition. As an American company, Peterson also has been more willing to develop special target brass such as the Tubb XC line, SRP .308, 6.5 Creedmoor, and PRS small rifle primer cartridges.

Great Brass

By Randy S. on Oct 03, 2023
My experience with Peterson brass has been great. Very consistent weights and neck thickness. Primer pockets hold up very well

6.5 Creedmoor

By Abe M. on Jul 10, 2023
I just received 100 rounds of Peterson. Weighted all of them and they all are within one grain of each other. That is what I have come to expect from this great brass. Five stars from me.

6.5 Peterson brass.

By Glen S. on May 18, 2023
Good stuff-fair price. Delivery was good. Works as advertised. This brass and good loading practices get me single digit SDs. That all I ask.

Glad to tell others about the quality

By Derrick K. on May 18, 2023
I have a friend that is new to reloading. I found myself telling him-

"If you want the best accuracy. Go with Peterson!"

Quality product

By Gerald S. on May 18, 2023
Petersons brass appears top notch and is packaged in very nice ammo boxes. I had an issue with only one piece of brass and Petersons promptly responded to my email and solved my issue without delay.

Peterson 6.5 brass

By Daniel C. on Apr 26, 2023
Awesome quality of the brass I received and was shipping in a ammo box to keep the brass from being dinted during shipping

Precision

By Brett S. on Apr 24, 2023
unbelievable quality, will be ordering more

Peterson 6.5 Creedmoor LRP brass

By Dave N. on Apr 10, 2023
This brass is very good quality brass that comes nicely annealed and in its own 50 rd. plastic ammo box. I usually run the brass over an expander mandrel and the thru a neck sizing die before load the first time. The case capacity is less than other commercial brands of brass so be sure to start with a lower powder charge and work up. I will buy more in the future.

Also, Thank You Graf & Sons for your usual fast shipping!

back down powder charge

By Stephen D. on Apr 04, 2023
This is great brass and will last a long time. Just make sure you back off the the powder charge if you have been using other brass. If you have been using Hornady brass start with 1.5 grs. less power at least. to start with from that load with Hornady brass. You will get pressure signs early if you are already near a max. charge with other makes of brass. Just a heads up for new reloaders.

Peterson 6.5 CM brass

By Larry H. on Mar 29, 2023
Excellent brass. First time using this brass and I love the result. Higher velocities and SD in the single digits which is much more different than the Hornady brass I’ve been using. Also gotta love the storage boxes the brass is shipped in. Found my new go to brass!

6.5 Brass

By James T. on Mar 14, 2023
Consistent in all aspects, little to no prep required beyond chamfering mouth. This will be my go to brass.

6.5 Creedmoor Peterson brass

By Dave S. on Mar 13, 2023
Excellent brass. Have multiple firings of these without issues. Very durable. My rifle consistently 0.5 MOA at 100 yards using this brass. As others have written here, my new brass is run through a neck sizing expander mandrel for consistent neck tension, mouths are chamfered and the brass is ready for primers.

Petersen 6.5 Creedmoor brass

By Steve B. on Mar 02, 2023
I’ve heard great things about this brass so I’m trying some, haven’t fired any yet however on examination all cases measured have very consistent tolerances, including overall lengths, neck wall thickness and overall uniformity.

Quality Brass

By Charles T. on Feb 15, 2023
I was impressed with this brass. Only prep work needed was chamfering the mouth of cases. I have loaded 7 times, still going.

Best brass out there

By Ralph K. on Feb 09, 2023
Only brass I use great quality, great packaging, an grafs has the best service out there. Never had any issue with any of the brass. Would definitely recommend it hands down!!!!

6.5 CM Peterson brass

By Michael D. on Nov 08, 2022
Top notch brass, was easy to size and load. Primer pockets are good. Protective case prevents damage to cases and case necks.
Very good brass and a good price from Graf.

Great brass

By Brent H. on Oct 07, 2022
Packaged very well in nice ammo box. Consistently good shooting brass. Nice annealing marks. Had good luck with their win mag brass and this looks to be no different.

Ready to Go!

By Arthur A. on Dec 08, 2020
Excellent Brass. When I received it, I took some measurements and it was spot on. No need to send it through a full-size die.

After shooting and cleaning, just a bump with the neck die, it was good to go again. Highly recommended.

Top quality brass

By Russell P. on Dec 02, 2020
This brass is of top quality and would recommend it to anyone who reloads.

Peterson Brass

By James L. on Oct 03, 2020
Best brass made in my opinion. I have fired Peterson brass that have been fired over 8 times in my 6.5 CM and I can’t tell any difference in primer seating than when new!

Graf’s has great service too!

Grafs is awesome

By Tim L. on Oct 02, 2020
This is my first match grade brass. I'm hoping for better SD than from Hornady brass. Looking at getting MV today to see.

Awesome brass

By Robert L. on Sep 18, 2020
Received the brass in perfect condition, looks far superior to other brass I have bought in the past. Will be purchasing again soon!

6.5CM Peterson Brass

By Kevin D. on Sep 12, 2020
This is super quality brass. It is what I use for PRS match’s. It is great to get the ammo box, very little prep work. I always size just to make sure of consistent neck tension, but that’s it for the prep.

Peterson 6.5 Brass

By Michael D. on Jul 09, 2020
Have used most of the run of the mill brass along with Nosler , Starline and others . Always wanted to try Lapua , just couldn't justify the price . Well this is really the ticket . Although I just got it and haven't loaded it , after inspection there is no doubt this is the BEST I have ever seen. I will be buying this brass exclusively in the future.

Stellar brass

By Michael B. on Jul 08, 2020
This brass is exceptional at a better price point than lapua and the quality is better, Every case was flawless and every mouth perfectly concentric. The primer pockets are precisely uniform and the case walls are identical in thicknes. A+++ brass.

6.5 CM Brass

By Phillip T. on May 04, 2020
Have always used the overpriced "premium" brass of other makers when building serious loads.
After discovering and using the Peterson cases, I need look no farther---excellent brass....and nice touch on the packaging.
Only reason for review not being 5 star is that I would like to see the Peterson line add a few more calibers to their quality line.

Peterson 6.5 cm brass

By Kai L. on Apr 28, 2020
I was a little disappointed with this last lot of Peterson brass. Some of the case necks were very dented, not what I would expect from Peterson, so quality control is slipping a little. But overall, still good brass, very consistent weight.

1st Match

By ROGER B. on Mar 09, 2020
All I did was run it through a Full Length Match Grade Sizing die, primed, loaded and set the bullet and shot a 566 12X. My second highest score in F Class. I will continue to replace my old brass with Peterson.

Uniform + Velocity Boost

By Bill B. on Oct 29, 2019
Case weight variance was about .1 grain from case to case and length was within 1 thousandth. Out of the box, I was very happy with consistency. No trimming needed, just ran through neck-sizer die.

I did a Satterle load workup with 10 shots @ 100 yards Peterson brass gained 50+ fps compared to Hornady Brass. Normally I run 140gr ELDs with xxgr of H4350 and 210M primers and get 2,793fps. With Peterson brass that same charge yielded 2,840fps.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Because of the significant change in velocity, the accuracy node changed and I had to do a completely new workup. I don't recommend duplicating loads from previous brass.

6.5 creedmoor brass

By JAMES A. on Oct 18, 2019
As of this time I haven't had the opportunity to load these cases but I have looked at them. My powder dispenser by lyman went belly up on me and I'm at present frustrated as I want to shot these cases.
I tried to get some ADG but they are "out of stock"
so a company that wants and takes care of their customers is a precious and very welcome situation.
Respectfully, Andy

Great Brass equals Great Loads

By Nicholas Y. on Aug 25, 2019
I purchased this after several reviews. I typically only use Lapua Brass because it’s the best and after reading about Peterson I gave it a try. Very good quality and cheaper then Lapua. I like the free 50 round ammo box it comes in. Will buy more in the future.

Peterson brass

By John S. on Jul 15, 2019
Loaded up 25 rounds of 6.5CM. Liked not having to do anything to brass initially other than neck size. Accurate and consistent rounds. Definitely smaller capacity than previously used Hornady rounds

Good stuff

By Brandon H. on Jul 05, 2019
This is great brass for the money. Very consistent and ready to go right out of the box. Also comes in a great case.

great brass

By Christopher C. on Jun 14, 2019
great brass ready to shoot

No prep required

By BRUCE B. on Jun 14, 2019
Bought 2 boxes of 50, 6.5 CM. Necks all (.291.5), length -spot on, bodies were nearly perfect. Because they came in boxes with a thick foam headliner there were no dings on necks, pockets needed nothing -in or out. I weighed all 100 they ranged from 170.0 ~173.2 about a 2% variance; that might be a little strong, but -I just sorted by boxes of 20 with the closest weights in each box, should work. They have to be the prettiest brass I've worked with so far, so let's see if pretty equals dead on.

Peterson Brass, 6.5 Creedmoor Brass

By John N. on Jun 03, 2019
I love the 6.5 Creedmoor cartridge. The only area of concern for me was the mediocre quality of Hornady brass. Peterson brass is fully equal to Lapua brass in terms of quality. It is thick, and heavy, and requires less powder to reach full pressure, and velocity.
I anneal between loadings, and fully expect to get 20 cycles out of this brass. It has minimal runnout, and shoots straight. This brass can easily handle the stresses of being run through a semi-automatic precision rifle.

Peterson Brass 6.5CM

By Robert S. on Jun 03, 2019
Am working up this brass as I write this. Have found it to be excellent brass. no need to trim initially, neck turning was smooth and uniform (didn't note any unusual highs and lows with the turning, flash holes good, etc. All in all, this is great brass, but will hold any really good any final kudo's until after firing and reloading, etc.

Great stuff

By Kyle W. on May 13, 2019
Very nice brass. Happy with my purchase. Brass arrived very nice with no damage.

Great brass no prep

By Dan D. on May 01, 2019
Amazed with the first box so I bought a second . Very consistent weight , .8 grains was the worst I had seen . Great packaging leaving it ready to load when you get it . Shot some pretty hot and the primers stayed tight .

Great Brass

By Matthew C. on Nov 27, 2018
The brass is awesome! All weights of my 150rnds of 6.5 Creedmoor large primer was within .7 of each other. None of the brass necks were dinged thanks to the plastic cases with foam insert at the top. I was going to gave a four star rating because the plastic ammo boxes were damaged. Nothing to do with the brass quality, the shipping agency crushed the box a little during shipment and as a result two of my three plastic cases were damage. One had a crack in the lid and the other had the lid busted into pieces, but the brass was in perfect shape. Great looking brass with tight tolerances, can't wait to shoot them.

Great brass

By Jody F. on Nov 15, 2018
Very little prep, I turn my necks for consistency and the brass required very little tooling, I bought 500 pieces and was in a time crunch, the people at grafs were on top of shipping.... awesome products and customer service!!!!!

Long range competitor

By Shawn P. on Oct 29, 2018
I shoot long range competitively. The key to accurate ammunition at long range is low standard deviations round to round. Peterson brass has consistently delivered that due to their consistency. While sorting my 250 lot of brass by weight, the majority fell within 0.4 grains of each other,, none were greater than 1.5grs. Thats consistency!!!! And consistency makes accuracy.

Peterson 6.5 brass SRP

By David W. on Aug 23, 2018
Weight extremely close, very high quality brass, I like the SRP and still tight after several reloads. My new go to 6.5 brass SRP

Some say Lapua quality

By Scott G. on Aug 06, 2018
I would agree that it is pretty close. Still have yet to fire (using for 600 yard steel). Prepped and weighed the cases. Weight- all 50 were within .8 grains ES. SD was .3 grains. This allowed for challenging sorting as so many where so close in weight ( many were the same weight). They were on average about .5gr heavier then Hornady cases. So work up your recipe if at max. I like that as it seems like a better alloy. Case mouth already chamfered, and neck is annealed. I did size and turn the case necks. I was able to keep that under .001 (<.002 total). So far I am very impressed. I also liked the case that is worth $5-8 in itself. Pending good groups ( I have no reason to doubt) the Lapua might not get replaced!

No prep

By William M. on Aug 06, 2018
Great brass! No prep really required, chamfer inside and outside, prime , load powder and seat a bullet. I measured muzzle velocity 2745, sd of 4.6 for 5 shots , shooting 577yds to 985yds worked great!
