The easiest way to get smooth long shank studs for bedding any Mauser. Much easier to keep bedding compound out of your action vs using the rifle's own stock screws. Cover everything (including the studs) with release compound, apply your bedding compound to the stock (on both the action and bottom metal side if you're bedding them at the same time), and use the studs to guide the action down through the bedding. While bedding is still wet, adjust position of both action and bottom metal as necessary, then tape the works in place with electrical tape. You will end up with a perfect stress free bedding job every time. I have these for every action I might bed and I make them if I can't buy them. Getting these is much easier than making them.
