have had great success using these rings on rifles up to 300 win mag.

Can Be Used As A QD Mount

By Leon G. on Feb 22, 2019
I selected the Burris XTR Tact rings because the large base attachment nut makes a scope mount useful as a Quick Detach mounting as well.

My storage does not have room for a scoped rifle, so I have to dismount the scope. I have found that the Burris XTR Tact rings will hold zero quite well; a click or two to rezero after each remount. (This, of course, presupposes that the initial scope mounting has the rings positioned up forward against the rail's ridges.)

The rings fit the tube correctly without need for any lapping. Since the rings have 6 cap screws, it is essential to use a torque driver when installing. The recommended torque is only 20 in/lbs, so it is much better to use a torque wrench than to rely on feel.

As a side note, I replaced a higher set of these rings for these low rings. There were no scuff marks on the scope tube.
