Product Information

Designed for the 41 Remington Magnum revolver cartridge and introduced in 1970, these bullets made up one fifth of the total number of Sierra handgun bullets offered in that year. In 1984, the design was upgraded with the famous Sierra Power Jacket to make these excellent bullets even better. The 41 Remington Magnum cartridge and handguns chambering it have not become highly popular. Nevertheless, these true magnum bullets, which provide fast expansion and deep penetration on game, are suitable for all North American game normally hunted with a handgun. Shooters of 41 Action Express handguns will find these bullets very useful also, and should refer to Sierra's Reloading Manual for proper loads.

This is not loaded ammunition.

Glad to see these are still available

My comments on the 170 grain Sierra goes the same as the 210 gr Sierra with exception of load data. For this I have used xx.x to xx.x of Winchester 296 backed with CCI 350 primers. Recently, I have added Accurate #9 to the mix with either WLP or F150 match primers with xx.x to xx.x grains of powder. Will NOT use CCI 350 primers unless, as per Western Powder which use F155 primers, they are backed down to xx.x as MAX. Am excited to see how they all compare, which is most accurate, especially in the S & W 57-6 and the Ruger Blackhawk Hunter.

41 Mag

Perfect for the lever guns, safe in the tubular magazine. Started using it in the revolver first. Deadly on white tail and wild hogs. Its a 3/4" group at 100 yards with a 22" lever gun.

Perfect bullet for the 41 Remington Magnum

I have been using this bullet for over 20 years and it is my ONLY go to bullet for the taking of Whitetail deer. I use this bullet exclusively in my Gen 2 Thompson Center Contender. My TC has a 10" barrel and is topped with a very old, and very inexpensive Simmons 2x scope. At 50 yards it will consistently hold 1/2" groups (c to c), and it has never lost zero. I have taken many Whitetail deer with this bullet along with more than my fair share of wondering coyotes. I have never lost an animal that has been hit with this bullet. I would caution that you limit the range to just 120 yards. This bullet sheads speed quickly limiting it's DRT effective range. Why the four stars you ask? it's not for the bullet, but for Sierra production planners. Lets face it, this is not the big company seller, and when demand is high and hoarding begins this bullet goes to the end of the list in terms of production. It's a four day change over to start production. Thats 8 days of downtime to make a low volume seller. This in turn can create shortages which can at times, make this a very difficult bullet to find. Despite the spotty availability I love this bullet and wouldn't choose anything else. I hope one day to get a crack at a Javelina or Black bear with this bullet. I have no doubt it will do the trick!
